kikelin is Kike Payá’s nickname (Alcoi, 1965) with which he signs his caricatures.
For 20 years, the portrait and caricature has been his hobby, a way of having fun that accompanied him until new technologies and a deep personal crisis, turned it into a profession and a mean of investigation. Kike says that both disciplines are looking for the same objective: represent the physical identity, character and personal history in the face.
Searching on the reflection of the character in the face: evolutionary physiognomy and morphopsychology. He wants to find genetic, vital decisions and learning more about the character’s personality in the face.
Either publishing, advertising or artistic work, caricatures that he prefers to portray come from multiple areas: cinema, television, history, politics, sports… But he loves his role as a caricaturist by comission, and enjoys with new challenges.
He has studio in Segorbe (Castellón).
